IOM

INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION

  • Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration and is committed to the principle that migration in an orderly manner and under humane conditions benefits migrants and society. IOM is part of the United Nations System as a partner organization.

  • IOM works to facilitate the development of the resilience of people on the move, and particularly those in vulnerable situations, as well as promoting the capacity of governments to manage all forms of mobility and their impacts.

The U.S. Government

It has a development plan whose policy is to reduce the negative effects on the climate, expand academic offerings, and the development of alternative energies, for which:

  • It seeks to address the nation's racial wealth and labor gaps in part through a $30 billion fund for small green businesses.

  • A refundable tax credit of $15,000 for first-time home buyers. It also proposes the construction of 1.5 million new homes and affordable housing; President Biden proposes to invest $2 trillion over four years as a stimulus in green energy projects.
